Event Ticketing Fees Compared for Muslim Organizations (2026)
Fee pages are written to be hard to compare. Here is one example, 300 tickets at $40, worked through each platform's published pricing as of September 2026.
The example
300 paid tickets at $40 = $12,000 face value. Card processing (typically 2.9% + $0.30) applies everywhere and is excluded below so platforms are compared on their own fee.
Published platform fees
Eventbrite: 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket = about $981 from the organizer (or passed to attendees). Qariyb: 3.5% = $420 from the organizer. Ummah (theummah.io): 3% on the free plan = $360; 1.5% at $29/month; 0% at $199/month. Luma: about 5% = $600. Ummah Unite: $1 + 2.5% = $600, added at the attendee's checkout - the organization keeps the full $12,000 face value.
Who pays matters more than the rate
A fee taken from the organizer is money that never reaches the masjid or MSA. A fee shown to the attendee at checkout, as Ummah Unite does, means the ticket price you set is the amount you bank. For a $40 ticket the attendee sees $2 in platform fee plus card processing - and has always been shown it before paying.
Free events and donations
Free tickets are free on every platform above except where a subscription is required. One-time donations on Ummah Unite carry no platform fee at all.

Which platform is cheapest for the organizer?
For paid tickets, any platform that passes its fee to the attendee costs the organizer $0 in platform fees; Ummah Unite does this by default. Among organizer-paid fees, theummah.io's 0% requires a $199/month subscription.
