Ummah Unite vs Ummah App
Ummah App published a comparison of the two platforms in September 2026. Some of it is accurate, some of it is out of date, and one line is wrong in a way that matters. Here is the same comparison with everything filled in — including the rows that were left blank.
The line that is wrong
Their page says Ummah Unite is "strongest on event day" and Ummah App is strongest "the rest of the year." Event day is the shortest part of what we do.
For the Niya Summit at the Computer History Museum, our team worked with the organizers for roughly three months: marketing, the website, sponsor packages, the schedule, vendors, and then the door. The result was 187% of the ticket target with $0 in ad spend. For the summits we are running next, the engagement is planned at up to five months. Nobody spends five months on a single day. And it does not have to end: organizers can keep the team every month of the year — the next event, the newsletter, the fundraiser, the content — and some now do.
And after the event, every attendee is a follower the organizer owns — a list they can announce to, for free, without asking anyone's permission or paying a subscription to keep it. That is "the rest of the year."
A fraction of what we do
Ummah App is software for a community to administer itself: a feed, a member directory, dues, prayer times, and an events module. Ummah Unite covers that events module and then keeps going — and the part they described as "event day" is a team that is in the trenches with organizers, year-round if they want it. If the organizer does not succeed, we do not succeed. That is the deal.
| What an organizer might need | Ummah Unite | Ummah App |
|---|---|---|
| Sell tickets, take donations at checkout, check people in | Yes | Yes |
| Sell booths and floor space from a plan; vendor storefronts; one QR for entry and pickup | Yes | No — by their own account |
| Sponsor packages and attendee-to-sponsor meeting booking | Yes | No |
| Your brand, your domain, checkout embedded on your own website | Yes | No |
| Livestream and hybrid with per-ticket Zoom links | Yes | No |
| A team that plans the event with you, months out | Yes | No |
| A team that runs your marketing: design, video, a calendar built backwards from on-sale, distribution to 55,000+ | Yes | No |
| A team that secures and coordinates speakers and sponsors | Yes | No |
| A team that builds your website | Yes | Paid service |
| A team at your door on the day | Yes | No |
| A team you can keep every month of the year — the next event, the newsletter, the fundraiser, the content | Yes — organizers can, and some now do | No |
| A members-only app with a private social feed | No — by design; your attendees are your list | Yes |
Twelve rows. They cover one and a half of them. Calling the other ten "event day" is not a comparison; it is a way of not mentioning them.
What the organizer actually pays
Their page compares the fee an attendee pays on Ummah Unite with the fee an organizer pays on Ummah App. Those are different people. Here is the organizer's bill on each:
| Organizer running $500 of tickets a month | Ummah Unite | Ummah App |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | $0 | $0 · $19 · $75 / month |
| Platform fee paid by the organizer | $0 | $15 (Free plan) · $7.50 + $19 (Basic) · $0 + $75 (Advanced) |
| What the organizer keeps of a $25 ticket | $25.00 | $24.25 on Free |
| Free events | Free, always | Free |
On Ummah Unite the attendee pays $1 + 2.5% at checkout — $1.63 on a $25 ticket — unless the organizer chooses to absorb it. The organizer's cost is zero on every ticket, on every plan, forever. There is no plan.
The rows they conceded
In their own words: they do not sell booths, tables or floor space, have no interactive venue map, and do not host vendor storefronts — and if your event lives on those, "Ummah Unite has them." We agree. Here is what that row actually contains:
- Booth types with prices and quantities, sold from an interactive floor plan, paid into the organizer's Stripe at booking. Platform fee $10 + 2.5% per booth, and the organizer chooses whether to absorb it or add it to the vendor's total.
- Vendor storefronts on the event page: products, pre-orders, pickup at the booth, delivery to the venue or shipping with tracking. $1 + 2.5% per order, shown to the buyer or absorbed by the vendor.
- One QR code for the whole visit: entry at the door, and pickup at every vendor's booth — each vendor scans it and sees only their own orders.
- Sponsor meeting booking: attendees reserve real time slots with sponsors from the event page, via our calendar, Calendly or Google Calendar.
The rows they left blank
Their table marks prayer times, membership and programs as "not stated" for Ummah Unite. Stated:
| Row | Ummah Unite | Ummah App |
|---|---|---|
| Your audience between events | Every attendee becomes your follower; announce to them for free; your list, exportable any time | Members live inside Ummah App's app |
| Prayer times | On every event page, for the venue, on the day | In-app for 1,900+ masajid |
| Programs and classes | Sessions, custom registration questions, parent and child fields, waitlists; recurring series and rosters in progress | Enrolment, roster, attendance |
| Does the attendee install anything? | No — one tap from the flyer to the ticket, on the web | Yes, for the member experience |
| Your brand, your domain | White-label pages, your own domain, and the whole event embeddable on your site with checkout inside | Branded website as a paid service |
| Livestream and hybrid | YouTube, Facebook and Zoom, gated to ticket holders; a personal Zoom link on every ticket | Not stated |
| Automatic discounts | Early bird, family and returning-attendee discounts that apply themselves; private codes stay private | Not stated |
| Donations | Inside checkout at 0% — at the moment people are most ready to give | Campaign pages; platform fee on the Free plan |
| A team that runs the event | Yes — marketing, website, sponsors, vendors, run-of-show and the door, for three to five months | No |
Numbers you can check
Ummah Unite's figures — 4,878 tickets, $66,528 processed, 52 platform events, 187% of target at Niya — come from the live platform and its public pages, and change as events run. Claims of tens of thousands of app users and thousands of events on other platforms do not appear on any public page and cannot be verified from outside. We would rather publish numbers anyone can check.
Which one should you pick?
For events, of every size, Ummah Unite. A free weekly halaqa costs nothing here, forever, and every person who registers becomes a follower the organizer owns — no app to install, no subscription to keep the list. A Ramadan fundraiser gets donations inside checkout at 0%. A bazaar sells its tables from a floor plan. A convention sells tickets, booths, storefronts and sponsors in one checkout, on its own brand and domain, with a team that has worked with the organizer for months. Their own page concedes the top of that range; the bottom of it is free on both platforms and easier here.
The one thing Ummah App has that we do not sell is a members-only app with a private social feed. If a community wants to move its conversations into an app, that is a different product. For the event — any event — this is the platform.
