Event Check-in for Muslim Events: Unlimited Devices, Lost QR Codes and Cash at the Door (2026 Guide)
The door is where an event is judged. Nobody remembers the ticket page; everyone remembers the line. This guide is what we learned running check-in for community events - including a convention weekend where the door team asked, in real time, for the features that are now on every check-in page.
Put the scanner on every phone
Do not queue people behind one device. Sign the organizer account in on every volunteer's phone before doors open, on good signal. Each phone scans independently; the server is the source of truth, so a ticket scanned on one phone shows 'already checked in' on all the others. Signing out on one phone no longer signs out the rest.
Stop the double-entry trick
Multiple lines invite the oldest trick: one screenshot of a ticket, two people, two lines. The check-in write is atomic - the first scan wins, the second gets 'already checked in' - even when both phones scan in the same instant.
The guest who lost their QR
It happens every event. On the check-in page, search by name or email; the result shows the ticket type, quantity and status, with a Check-in button if the ticket is valid and a badge if it is already used or cancelled. Thirty seconds instead of a phone call to whoever bought it.
Cash at the door
Someone arrives with cash and no ticket. Register them from the same screen: name, email, ticket type, quantity, cash or complimentary, and check them in immediately. The record is a real ticket - capacity is enforced, the sold count updates, the QR is generated - and it is tagged as a door sale with the amount, so the cash box reconciles at the end of the night.
What to reject, automatically
Cancelled, refunded, pending and expired tickets are refused at the scan with a clear reason. Volunteers should never have to remember a rule the system can enforce.
The checklist
Log every phone in before doors. Bring a cellular hotspot in case venue Wi-Fi fails. Assign one person to the name-lookup screen for the guests who lost their QR. Keep a float for cash registrations. And export the attendee list the next morning - the follow-up is where the next event sells.
Questions
Can several volunteers scan with one organizer account?
Yes. Sign the same account in on every device; each scans independently and the server keeps one truth. Signing out on one phone does not sign out the others.
What if an attendee has no QR code?
Search by name or email on the check-in page and check them in from the result; valid, used and cancelled tickets are clearly marked.
How do we register someone who paid cash?
Use the door registration panel: name, email, ticket type, quantity, cash or complimentary. It creates a real ticket, respects capacity and can check them in immediately.
